Tally Hawk was thrilled to welcome Sue Lightner for our winter clinic before we ramp up for the show season. As always, all participants learned so much thanks to Sue’s incredible insight. Tally Hawk was even lucky enough to participate in Sue’s filming for an upcoming segment for USHJA focused on hunter breeding handler turn out which was a great learning opportunity in itself! Congratulations to the Gray family on their new addition, Vanitas (Vinnie)! We are excited to see what the future holds for this young man!

Congratulations to Julie Dormandy on her half lease of Michelle Gaubert’s Winnetou! These two are a perfect match and Winnie is already loving being doted on with Julie’s special care.

Big Congrats to Paulina Andreu on her half lease of Liss Traader’s Bonnie! Bonnie stepped right up to the plate to be the perfect in between mount for Paulina while Slick heals from an injury.

In lieu of our annual Holiday Party, Tally Hawk hosted a fun Holiday Show at home! The day was filled with decorated jumps, ugly sweaters, and a fun working equitation/Derby style competition. Melissa Brandley and her horse, Miles, won the class with a score of 85 and Liis and Mariel winning the ugly sweater contest.

All Tally Hawkers received beautiful embroidered arena bags and the Hawkers even surprised Jessica and Danielle with a BEAUTIFUL custom Tally Hawk Jump! Special thanks to the Gray family for their help making the beautiful jump and thank you to Clay Boyer for capturing some great moments from the day in our gallery section. We had a fun day shared with our barn and we are looking forward to a happy and healthy 2021!

Paso Park Fall Classic 10/28-11/1:

La Luna Bay, owned by Michelle Gaubert and shown by Jessica Allan earn top placings in the 3’3” Green Hunters and 4th in the USHJA National Hunter Derby out of a field of 43!

Icon, owned by Nicole Goram and shown by Jessica Allan earn top placings in the 3’3” Performance Hunters and impressive first round in the USHJA National Hunter Derby!

Catira and owner Kate Olsen have great results in the Children’s Hunters 3’ and Reserve Champion in the 12-17 equitation!

Helios and owner Mariela Heinala finish Reserve Champion in the 12-17 equitation and have great placings in the Norcal Equitation Classic and Children’s Hunters! They also earned second in the THIS Children’s Medal.

Gentlemen Jack and owner Sarah Maples were on fire this show winning almost every class they entered! Champion in the Adult Equitation, winners of the Norcal Equitation Classic, and winners of the Ariat Adult Medal.

Nicole Gorman and her horse, Icon, have top placings, 1st and 2nd in their 3’ debut at their first show together! Reserve Champion in the Adult Equitation, and 4th in the AA Hunter Classic.

Reminiscent, owned by Melissa Brandley, ridden by Jessica Allan earn top placings in the schooling hunters out of a large field and have a great round in the USHJA National Hunter Derby just out of the running for the second round.

La Luna Bay and Michelle Gaubert are Champions in the Long Stirrup Hunters at their second show together!

Winnetou and Michelle Gaubert have great placings in the Limit Adult Equitation in the 1-2-3 placings!

Call it Karma and Abigail Boyer earned top placings in the 3’6” Junior Hunters, second in the CPHS 3’6” Jr/AM Medal, 4th in the ASPCA Horsemanship Class, and had a great outing in the USHJA National Hunter Derby!

• Reserve Champion: Reminiscent, owned my Melissa Branldey and ridden by Jessica Allan

• $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby 10th Place to Abby Boyer and her horse Call it Karma in a field of over 50 participants! Abby and Zar also had great rounds in the NorCal Medal Finals.

• Kailyn Gray and her horse Falcore had great results in the .80 and .85 Jumpers, 6th in the Almaden Farms Medal, and 2nd in the PCHA Jr/Am Horsemanship! Congrats to Kailyn on a great first show with THS!

• Sarah Maples and her horse Gentleman Jack also had a great first show with THS earning top ribbons in the AA Hunters, 5th in a very competitive Norcal 3"‘ Medal, and great rounds in the Norcal Medal Finals

• Nicole Gorman piloted Zieta Z to beautiful rounds in the Pre-Adult Hunters, a win in the Under Saddle, and 5th place in the Pre-Child/Adult Hunter Classic! Congrats Nicole and Zieta!

Congratulations to the Mehta family on their purchase of “Leo” We can’t wait to watch this young horse grow with Anika. Special thanks to Burgers Stables Sport Horses for providing us with this lovely prospect!

Since we haven’t been able to show for quite some time due to COVID 19, Tally Hawk hosted a “faux show” in June to prepare riders for our first upcoming show in July! The nerves were high and everyone rode great-just what we needed to get us mentally prepared to get back in the show ring!

Tally Hawk would like to congratulate the Mehta Family and Anika on their lease of Elle. We are excited to watch this pair grow together!
