Jessica Allan and Fanciful of Tally Hawk Stables Win the $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby
Tally Hawk is showing at the Sonoma Horse Park and scored a derby win! Below is an excerpt from the Sonoma Horse Park press release:
Jessica Allan and Jayme Jenkins' Fanciful took home their first $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby win against a strong field of horses and riders.
"The stars aligned today, it is the first time I have won one of the big derbies and I have only won a couple of little ones." explained Allan, "It was unexpected, I just did my thing and it all worked out today."
Allan has been riding and training the 8-year-old imported Fanciful for a year and a half and today's success, in only his fifth major Derby, brought great delight to Allan and the Jenkins family.
"It has been great watching him come along with Jessica and Danielle" explained owner, Jayme Jenkins, "Fanciful just keeps surprising us and knocking it out of the park."
It is an exciting time for this relatively new barn. Tally Hawk Stables, opened by Allan and Danielle Smith, has not yet reached their first year in business. It is a dream come true for these close friends and they are grateful for their great group of clients. The team at Tally Hawk Stables are looking forward to the next two weeks at Sonoma Horse Park and are thoroughly enjoying their visit thus far.
